This home office for a private personal investment advisor responds to the clients brief of a discrete yet sculptural design solution for a home office by conceptually draping a dynamic surface over an orthogonal arrangement of the required home office elements including a work desk, storage units, printer, paper shredder etc. The fluid geometric form is articulated as a series of alternating CNC milled birch plywood ribs. The frosted storage Perspex storage elements are internally illuminated with LED’s to gently articulate the floating boxes within the fluid field of curved ribs. Colourful Elementary School Interior Design | Berlin | Baupiloten

For a private elementary school, administrative offices were converted into learning, exercise, and rest areas tailored to the children‘s needs. The space, which one enters immediately after exiting the elevator, is designed as a green indoor garden with plants and pictures; which together with the adjacent exercise room forms a counterpart to the schoolyard. Core elements of the design are the modular partitions, which can be lived in, played with, and climbed through, and thus adapted to the desired use. Headquartered in Beijing, Xiaozhu commissioned People’s Architecture Office and People’s Industrial Design Office to design House Parts Office, their latest office space located in the city’s hi-tech center. Xiaozhu (literally ‘small pig’ but homophonous with ‘short stay’) is a peer-to-peer housing rental website. The startup is China’s rival to Airbnb and part of the country’s new ‘shared economy’.

Launched four years ago, Xiaozhu is now valued at $300 million plus. The unpredictability of such rapid growth requires a highly flexible work environment. Our design features spaces and furniture that easily combine and separate, mobile meeting rooms, and power outlets that swing to desired locations. Like Xiaozhu’s online business, the office interior consists of a collage of various domestic spaces. Botero’s new fitout on Adelaide Street is to be the Coffee Roaster’s Queensland headquarters. Housing both a cafe and training facility the fitout needed to express the dedication to quality associated with brand. Jackson Teece worked closely with the client to develop a concept that both honoured the original bones of the building and showcased the clients brand.

In peeling back the layers of newer finishes Jackson Teece found a rich textured palette. Original brickwork, exposed hardwood timber beams and polished concrete form the backdrop to the cafe located on the ground and mezzanine levels. Teamed with brass and oak furniture elements allows Botero’s organic branding to take centre stage.....more

The subtle and sexy design of this bakery and cafe showcases the high artistry of owner, pastry chef, Willaim Werner, and his team. Adaptive re-use of a timber and brick building in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District sets the mood for this sophisticated cafe where the pastry is “It”. The custom counter and pastry case become the center of attention lending color and figure to the minimal, moody design insertions. The long space, with the top lit, twenty-five foot ceilings, is broken down with seating at the front and casework/counter at the rear. The complex, designed to serve as a future incubator for up-and-coming start-ups, will become the one-stop office for all 180 Berlin employees of the foremost hub for musical exchange on the net. Anticipating future expansion of the rapidly growing SoundCloud platform, the spacious offices could potentially accommodate up to 350 desks.

To provide the company and its new HQ with a matching spatial identity, SoundCloud asked Kinzo to turn its new hub into a space that exudes and encourages innovation and creativity.
