The Boro is a 108 room hotel in the rapidly evolving neighborhood of Dutch Kills in New York City’s borough of Queens. While there are several existing flagged hotels in the area, the Boro is the first design-led bespoke offering that we hope will both further catalyze and respond to the exciting changes that are already evident.

When Grzywinski+Pons were commissioned to design the Boro Hotel, we (and our clients) inherited an already complete superstructure to define a massing and accept a building envelope that were not of our design. We had a small window of time and modest means within which we could make some minor changes before we focused on the interior so we concentrated those efforts on the glazing which would have the most impact on the interior architecture that was within our scope........more

Aedas was commissioned to redesign the lobby bar, all day dining, level 2 bar and presidential suite of the Hilton Hotel Beijing as part of their refurbishment programme.

Introducing the concept of oriental art, both the all day dining and the bar at level 2 include traditional oriental elements. Upside down Chinese paper parasols can be found hanging from the ceiling in one area whilst in another cloud designs are implemented overhead. Simplified Chinese Screens have been used to separate the restaurant into smaller, more private dining areas.......more

The building that houses the luxury hotel is a majestic building full of stucco facade and elegant decor. The lot is located in the heartof Nice, along the grand boulevard Victor Hugo. The project involves the recovery of the right side of the building, where the ground floor of the hotel are made spaces such as bars,convention center and breakfast room.
The concept that gives life to the project is a contemporaryinterpretation of the lines from the Belle Epoque style that characterize the historic housing wealth. To create this fusionmaterials used were comfortable, capable of evoking intenseatmosphere, Italian style own. Design element is the constantcreation of surfaces and light installations placed along the wallsand ceilings on several floors, emphasizing the qualities of space........more
